QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED

What is Kaiju Go!?
Kaiju Go! is a Japanese monster film, art, and toy showcase headlined by a double feature film screening. It also features guest artists and toy vendors from the kaiju, tokusatsu, and designer toy worlds.

What does my all-access ticket cover?
The admission includes access to both Godzilla feature films, the special screening of The Super Infra-man, guest artist interviews and access to all of the vendors.

What time does the event start and end?
The Texas Theater and Oak Cliff Cultural Center doors open at 2pm. The double feature will begin around 7pm. The event will end at the conclusion of the second film.

Are there in-and-out privileges?
Yes. If you have a valid ticket, you will be able to leave and re-enter.

Will there be a bar?
Yes. The Texas Theatre bar is superb - read about it here. Also, you can bring your beer/wine/drinks  from the bar into the theater during the show - but please bring back all glassware and trash to the bar when done!

What about food?
The Texas Theatre's bar includes standard concession items (popcorn, candy, bagel dogs, etc.). Stay tuned for any updates regarding outside vendors. In addition, there are many restaurants within a few blocks of the venue. Dining options include some of personal Dallas favorites like Xaman Cafe
Gonzalez Tex-MexCasa del Vegano, and Ocho Latin Cuisine.

Will the films be dubbed or subtitled?
The films will be in their original Japanese language and subtitled in English. If non-Japanese films are shown, the films will again be in their native language with English subtitles (if necessary).

Are children allowed?
Yes. Similar to any movie theater experience, we ask that all guests - adults and children - be respectful so that all can enjoy the film. If this is not possible, you will be asked to leave the theater.

Is the Texas Theatre wheelchair accessible?
Yes, both the downstairs and upstairs theaters are wheelchair accessible. For full details, visit the Texas Theatre's FAQ page.

Is seating assigned?
Seating is open and is first come, first served.

When will the vendor space be open?
Vendors will be open at 2pm and close around 9pm.

Will the toy vendors accept credit cards?
Each vendor decides what forms of payment that they will accept. However, most now accept credit cards (via Square), PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle as non-cash options.

What should I expect in the Q&A session?
Our Special Guest Artist will be interviewed by Yes Have Some/Toy Anxiety/YHS on Monster Island host, Jacob Walsh,  about life as an artist and a litany of other kaiju-related topics. The hope is to have 15 minutes for open audience Q&A - but that could increase/decrease based on time.

Where do we park?
The theatre’s free parking lot is located at the southeast corner of Centre St. and Madison Ave., adjacent to the Bank of Texas. Additional metered parking is available long Jefferson Blvd. Meters are active from 7am-4pm, seven days a week, at 25 cents an hour. They can be paid by coins or mobile app. For a Google map of the parking options, click here.
